Simply put, there is a tremendous amount of time and effort spent on the topic as it is extremely important to understand the importance of community “buy in”, community involvement. Having community involvement and “buy in” only influences the trust factor. When there is community “buy in” this will help generate political and community support, which could lead to funding and support for your organization. Allowing community involvement also allows the community to have some say in their community, this also encourages a sense of belonging to the community. This will enhance the relationships between the Public Safety agencies and the community.
